2015 Horseshoe Bay Resort Wine & Dine Festival Welcomes Sommelier Lasaan Georgeson

The author of “If A Wine Were Me, Which Would It Be?” will be joining the festival this year to offer a more in-depth look at Texas wines: what makes them special, identify styles of wines, and find the wines you enjoy most . Georgeson will lead three 35-minute sessions for the casual – to – seasoned wine drinker so they may relate to wines in a more personal way through information and insight they never had before.

The three sessions are: 1) Taste the distinction of Texas wines – mini history, climate, aspect, soils that give character to the vines, 2) Sensory tasting of wine – visual, smell, taste, palate assessment, and 3) Texas wines personified – depicting the various personalities of the wines. Georgeson will be using Texas wines represented at the Festival’s Sunset Wine Stroll and the sessions are free with paid admission.

A self-described “corporate drop-out”, LaSaan has been described as “an intoxicating demonstration of self-reinvention through inspiration and gratitude”. After a successful career in human resources, LaSaan decided to live, breathe, and drink the knowledge of wines, spirits and beer. She trained at International Sommelier Guild, The Court of Master Sommeliers, and Wine, Spirits and Education Trust. LaSaan created the book “If A Wine Were Me Which Would it Be?” based upon her service Bwinedate.com, which connects people who share a passion for wine. The book makes learning about wine enjoyable and more approachable by simplifying the complexities of different wines through personification and by attributing human characteristics to specific varietals. LaSaan resides in Austin, TX with her husband Peter, a fine artist, and their lovely fur-baby– her Bouvier des Flandres, Theo.
