Celebrate the Hill Country Wine Region as the some of the area’s most popular wineries come to Horseshoe Bay Resort to share their award-winning varietals at this celebrated Fall winery event. Here’s a look at this year’s wineries:

Bingham Familly Vineyards

Cliff Bingham, a fourth generation farmer in Terry County, began full time farming in 1982. Since 1992, Cliff and his wife, Betty have served as pioneers in the Texas organic cotton and peanut markets. They diversified their farming operations in 2003 by planting grape vines. Together with their children, the Binghams currently own or manage over 150 acres of wine grapes in production with an additional 20 acres not yet in full production in the Texas High Plains AVA.   They are now pleased to be moving forward in the Texas wine industry by starting a winery. They plan to continue selling grapes to their winery friends across the state who are producing award winning wines as well as producing wine of their own under the Bingham Family Vineyards label.

William Chris Vineyards

Using 100% Texas grown fruit William Chris Vineyards is a family owned winery and vineyard operation nestled on the edge of Hye, Texas in the Hill Country AVA (American Viticultural Area). Founded in 2009 by Bill Blackmon and Chris Brundrett, William Chris is first defined by a sensational portfolio of Texas grown hand-crafted wines. An unsurpassed commitment to sustainable wine making and an individualistic style shows through in every glass. Using small batch fermentation and old world “by hand” techniques we can achieve a level of wine quality which is truly unique to Texas.

Perissos Vineyards

Perissos award-winning wines are hand-crafted  from 100% Texas fruit; most of which is homegrown on the 16 acre family vineyard. Perissos is a Greek word found in the Bible (Ephesians 3:20) meaning “exceeding abundantly, beyond what is expected, imagined, or hoped for.”  Following the urge to get back to the family farming roots, Perissos was founded . In addition to establishing an Estate vinyard, Perissos also built a state-of-the-art winery and barrel storage facility.

Stone House Vineyards

Stone House Vineyards is perched on a high bluff overlooking Lake Travis. This 7-acre vineyard reaps benefits from moderating cool breezes blowing in off the water. The winery is constructed from massive limestone blocks, each weighing over 2000 pounds! The barrel room itself is temperature controlled at 58 degrees in order to maintain the quality maturation of barreled wine. The view and experience at Stone House is not to be missed.

Spicewood Vineyards

Spicewood Vineyards, operated by the Yates family, has a tradition of making exceptional wines that consistently win competitions. The original handcrafted winery building resembles a Texas Hill Country home of the 19th century. A new building was added in 1999 that includes a covered pavilion where a boxed lunch and glass of wine will be served. The underground barrel room has space for 400 barrels and the winery has the capacity to produce more than 5,000 cases of wine, annually.

Fall Creek Vineyards

Fall Creek Vineyards was established in 1975 by Texas businessman/rancher, Ed Auler and his wife, Susan. The vineyards are located eighty miles northwest of Austin in the Texas Hill Country where the sandy loam soil, warm days and cool breezes off Lake Buchanan provide an excellent microclimate for growing premium wine grapes.

Wedding Oak Winery

In July 2010 viticulturist Mike McHenry and a group of friends started Wedding Oak Winery with the passion to bring the burgeoning Texas wine industry to the heart of small town Texas. We opened our historic 1926 tasting room and 10,000 case winery, located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 and State Highway 16, on June 1, 2012. We are proud to be a central part of the renaissance of San Saba.
